But one FGBer is living our workplace nightmare.My boss is sleeping with my husband, she wrote to the Community.My boss is horrible to me and not very pleasant to other coworkers (dont know why she thinks shes entitled). Well, I just found out that shes sleeping with my husband, who also works at the same company. What can I do?Almost 20 FGBers reached out to offer support to her, and gave their own advice on the situation.Wow, this is so awful, and Im sorry this happened to you, one poster wrote. Highly recommend getting a new job and leaving your husband. No one deserves to be treated this wayI would find proof and go to HR. This is abuse of power by your boss. Wow, another FGBer added.A third said This really sucks. You need to verify that its true, then divorce him. He chose to cheat on you no matter if its with your boss or anyone else. Then, ask yourself if you really want to stay there at that job. Your soon-to-be ex works there. Find another job without his knowledge (or your bosss). This is key Then, you can leave both of them. You may want to seek someone you can talk to to help you through this stressful time.While we cannot tell you specifically to divorce your husband or leave your job, you need to put yourself first in this situation.But putting yourself first is subjective. If aside from your boss you truly love your job and your workplace, you should fight to stay. You have done no wrong, and you shouldnt be forced to leave because of others decisions. However, it is important to think about whether you can continue to work in a place where this has been happening behind your back.Why should she have to leave her job? What if its her dream job?, one woman asked in response to the post. They are the ones who are being crappy people. I say, find proof. File for divorce. Report it to her boss. Maybe theyll leave eit her by choice or at the request of upper management.Another FGBer recommended seeking legal advice.It is important to protect yourself, your place in the company and your assets in this kind of situation.Get a lawyer. Now, she said. Protect your assets, remove his name as beneficiary from insurance policies, retirement accounts, etc. Put your paycheck in a separate account that he cant access. If you are co-signed on any loans, get your liability removed. Depending on company policy, you may be able to report both of them for having a relationship within the chain of command. Otherwise, there may not be anything else you can do about that. Once you have your assets protected, get an escape/exit plan. Similarly, I am versatile and can perform well in different situations, on my own or in a team. And if an apple a day keeps the doctor away, I am just as reliable and will be a healthy asset to your organisation. I would be a passionfruit. This is a hardy fruit that grows well in higher altitudes. Similarly, I thrive under pressure, can take criticism and am also very passionate about what I do. I would be a banana. I have a soft centre and excellent people skills, but I also have a thick skin and am not put off by setbacks. I grow and develop all year round. Use the Ivy Lee Method to plan your nightWay back when (in the early 1920s) a productivity consultant named Ivy Lee welches invited by Mr. Charles Schwab (the richest man in the world at that time) to consult his executives and help them improve their time management.Ivy told Charles to only pay him What he thought his advice was worth and then sat down with each of the executives.He told them to do only one thing.Every night, they were to make a list of the SIX (no more, no less) biggest priorities for the next day and then clearly schedule them out on a sheet of paper.That was it.But guess what?3 months later, Mr. Lee received a check from Charles for the equivalent of $400,000It was that effective.If you want to make better use of your time, then you need to limit and clearly schedule your biggest priorities for every day.Write out the 6 biggest things that you need to accomplish and schedule them each day. I promise, it will revolutionize your time management.2. Create locational anchorsYour brain works through the power of association.If you habitually do a certain task in a certain place then your brain will begin to associate the physical and psychological states youre in with that specific location.For example, when you lay in bed, you typically feel tired even if youve only been awake for a few hours.When you go to a gym, you immediately get a burst of energy even if you were tired before.Use this to your advantage and create specific location based anchors for important tasks.Set up your office in the same way every day. Have a Pre game zeremonie to help you g et into a productive state.If you have multiple different tasks to accomplish, assign a different location for each one.For example, I do my writing at a specific coffee shop, my podcasting from my studio, and my marketing and funnel optimization from my home office.Test it out and I promise youll find yourself being far more productive throughout the day.3. Get at least 8 hours of sleep each nightYou cannot sustain high levels of productivity when youre sleep deprived.When I started sleeping in and getting at least 89 hours of sleep a night, my time management and productivity transformed over night.This might sound simple, but I promise it will work.4. Use a Pomodoro TimerEvery time you sit down to work, write down the ONE task you are commited to accomplishing in the next 50 minutes.Then, set a timer for 50 minutes and work with a single minded focus on that task.When the timer goes off, get up, stretch, and take a 10 minute break.Come back to your desk and repeat this tactic unt il the day is over.When I began implementing this strategy, my productivity doubled over night.5. Outsource low-level tasksI have a personal shopper, a chef, and a housekeeper.Even though these services cost me an arm and a leg on the front end, the amount of time and money that theyve saved me is incalculable.Think about it this way.If your time is worth, say $100/hour and you can pay someone to clean your house for only $20, is it worth it for you to spend your time cleaning your house?ABSOLUTELY NOTYou havent saved $20, youve lost $80.Identify low level tasks that are currently eating away at your time and pay someone else to do them immediately.I know youll be scared to do this (so was I), but if you use your new found time effectively, their services will pay for them self in less than a week.6. Do your fruchtwein important tasks during peak mental energy hoursDespite what people believe, time isnt our most valuable resource.Energy is.Think about it.You have 24 hours in a day.B ut how many of those hours are you physically capable of sustaining productivity?Unless youre an animal like Gary Vee, the answer is typically around 6 (according to science).And a significant body of research has concluded that most peoples mental energy levels peak around 23 hours after they wake up.Therefore, you should schedule ALL of your most difficult tasks during hours 36 of your day.By focusing on the most important things when youre energy is at its highest, youll be able to get more done more quickly and make far better use of your time.7. Say no moreThe most effective way to get more done is, quite simply, to commit to fewer things.The 1 reason that people are stressed out is because they try and do too much.Learn to prioritize yourself and say No to the bad and even the good so that you have time for the great.Hope this helps.Stay grounded,Andrew

While this doesnt have to be a deal-breaker for the position, you should try to frame that transition in the least damaging way possible. Remember that an interview is your opportunity tohighlight your strengths. Thats true even for situations where youre asked about weaknesses or possible career low points. Therefore Be honest.Dont fudge the facts. If you were terminated for cause, dont spin it as a layoff. The truth will likely emerge during ahintergrund check, at which point, the company will revoke your offer.Be brief.While you will need to address the demotion when you are asked about it, there is no reason to dwell on it.Be ready to move on.Prepare an explanation that focuses on the positive as much as possible and then move on to making a case for hiring you. In some cases,the demotion may be voluntary. In those situations, explain simply and clearly why you opted to request an adjusted role. Avoid an overly lengthy or personal response your best bet is to be factual, not emotional. You can emphasize that you requested the demotion, and that your goal was to ensure you would not leave the company in the lurch. However you respond, do make sure to be honest. Remember, your interviewer may check your references so dishonesty could be uncovered. While this isnt the easiest question to answer, as you can see, it by no means indicates a dead-end in the interview. Dont Criticize the Company Regardless of which angle youre coming from, be careful not to criticize management in any way. Avoid expressions of frustration or complaints, too.
